These wonderful women have a passion for music and girl power. This is one of the most unique Mariachi ensembles by returning to the all-string instrumentation of the early 20th century mariachi tradition and the colorful, feminine costumes of the Mexican cinematic divas of the 40’s and 50’s. Their lovely blend of vocal harmonies, unique arrangements, and interpretation of traditional sones, huapangos, rancheras,with a contemporary twist.
NYC BASED MARIACHI: This All Female Mariachi group, MARIACHI FLOR DE TOLOACHE, has caught the attention of a variety of audiences throughout NYC, through which Mireya (the band leader and founder) was featured on the NY Times, NBC, Univision and as the director of this innovative and unique band. Mireya has also shared the stage with: Chucho Valdez, Omar Sosa, Arturo O’Farrill, Marc Anthony, Elvis Crespo, Luisito Quintero, Juan Carlos Formell, Alfredo de La Fe, El Prodigio, Ruben Albarran from Cafetacuba, soul singer Bilal and many more. Mireya has also accompanied Djay’s including DJ Bobbito, DJ Rich Medina, Afrika Bambaataa, DJ Tony Touch, DJ and break dancer Crazy Legs, DJ Velcro, DJ Carol-C (Si*Se), DJ Sake 1, and many more. She has recorded with comedian Chris Rock for his album Never Scared, El Album by Velcro, Jarana Beat, Soni featuring Raekwon 2012, and Luisito Quinteros.
