Event and Wedding Planners are a Must
Event and Wedding Planners are a Must … You may have read my article on Design Dawgs last week about “Building a Story” with music for your event. Music is our life and creating the musical flow for your special day is something we thrive on. It is equally important to build your story with a seamless timeline created by someone with massive amounts of experience in the business, i.e. AN EVENT PLANNER … Hiring a planner and/or coordinator is crucial in executing that flow and letting the vendors/musicians (and your singer who may also be your emcee) know what’s next. We work together to create next-to-perfect transitions between each formality (first dance, speeches, cake cutting, garter/bouquet toss). These professionals are the ones who line up the bridal party before the ceremony and grand entrance and help the emcee before announcing each couple into the dining room. As we know, it’s part of the wedding party’s job to get a little lubricated throughout the day. Therefore the guidance of a wedding planner is certainly a necessity. Ha!
There are so many pieces to your Wedding and Event puzzle. It takes a crew of experts to make it happen the way you always dreamed of it happening. Please understand we are here to help you make your dream come true. However, we are not Event Planners and neither is your Banquet Captain, Photographer, DJ or Florist. We work events practically every weekend of our lives. You are getting married once, or perhaps this is your second wedding, or maybe even your third. At any rate, one or two weddings does not an expert make. Don’t leave it up to chance and ‘do-it-yourself’ or ask your ‘Aunt Mary’ (who more than likely is not an event pro) to run the show. You do want your guests to enjoy themselves, right?
Upon a few occasions we have seen brides and grooms try to coordinate each detail without hiring event professionals to cut cost. Hey, sometimes it works! But so many times, alas, it does not. My friend and colleague Kimery Sherwood of Kimery Events said it best and to the point, “You hire me for peace of mind”. And that is the truth! Peace of mind indeed … for everyone involved, especially the couple.
Here’s a short list of some of the many Event Planners we love: Percy Sales, Lisa Kahn Events, AOO Events, Amber Events, Kristin Banta Events, Mary Sushinski, Nam Lam
