3 Reasons to have your Wedding on a Friday or Sunday

3 Reasons to have your Wedding on a Friday or Sunday

1.  VENDOR / VENUE AVAILABILITY

Are you trying to have a Saturday wedding?  Is your favorite venue not able to accommodate you?  Are your favorite vendors and live wedding music already booked on that Saturday? Most vendors, suppliers, venues book their Saturdays first. But there’s a great solution. Have your event on a FRIDAY OR SUNDAY! More often than not, all your vendors are most likely available on Fridays and Sundays. I had the pleasure of speaking with some of my favorite vendors and venues on this topic and they completely agree. We all would like to book more clients on Fridays and Sundays.

2.  LESS STRESS

Sunday – There’s less traffic!  All of your preferred vendors, live wedding music and all of your guests will have a much easier time getting to your church / temple / venue. You’ve heard the song “Easy … like Sunday Morning” by The Commodores … there’s a reason that song was such a hit.  Not only because Lionel Ritchie has a silky smooth voice, but his delivery makes you feel the chill vibe of Sunday.

Friday – If you’re having a destination wedding, a Friday wedding celebration would be a perfect way to start the weekend.  In the song “Friday I’m in Love” by The Cure, Robert Smith gives his reasons on why Friday is the best day to be in love versus the other days of the week. After your big Friday event, you might want to follow it up with a Saturday brunch and go enjoy the beaches of Southern California. Your guests will have all of Saturday and Sunday to recuperate from your amazing Friday event.

3.  YOU MAY BE ABLE TO SAVE SOME MONEY!

I’m not making any promises here. Venues are among your biggest ticket items and you may get a reduced rate if you ask them for a Friday or Sunday booking.  That would be a huge savings which would help you in reallocating the money to secure your top preferred vendors and live wedding music!
