Top Five First Dance Songs for Wedding Music Bands

Deciding on wedding music bands does not have to be a headache when you choose us to provide the reception entertainment. And you know the headache to which I am referring. The wedding planning headache that involves location, table settings, and seating arrangements. At The Replicas Music we have a variety of genre bands that you can choose from and some bands that simply play a variety of genres. When choosing your wedding music band it is also best to have a playlist in mind. But the most important song the band will play during your reception is the one for the first dance. What is your first dance song? Some couple’s song is great, but something that is not very danceable. During your first dance you want to look good as a couple, because nobody wants to look like Elaine dancing at an office party (google it if you are a twenty-something because you probably don’t get the reference). Below I have listed a top five of first dance songs. This obviously is not exhaustive and please feel free to share in the comments any suggestions. The list is made up of five genres (and in no particular order so don’t get mad if you think Country should be first, it is first in your heart and that is what matters): Pop, Soft Rock/Adult Contemporary, Reggae, Rock, and Country.

TOP 5 FIRST DANCE SONGS FOR WEDDING BANDS

1. 1000 Years- Christina Perri (Pop)

Most Romantic Line: The whole song! That is why it works! When you are dancing and looking into your partner’s eyes and hear “I have loved you for a thousand years/ I’ll love you for a thousand more” remember it is ok to cry, and you will be in good company because the reception hall will be in tears as well. Don’t believe me? Give it a listen

2. Everything I Do- Ryan Adams (Soft Rock)

Most Romantic Line: “There’s no love, like your love/ And no other could give more love.” This is a great first dance song, especially because all the older people in the crowd will flash back to Kevin Costner’s Robin Hood and the whole dance will take on epic proportions. Click below to listen and enjoy scenes from the movie!

3. Is This Love- Bob Marley (Reggae)

Best Line (yep I switched it up there): “I wanna love you every day and every night.” Bob Marley songs are great for weddings, and especially first dances, because even bad dancers (myself included) can dance to Reggae as the beat is strong. Take a listen and you can’t not dance.

4. I’ll Stand By You- The Pretenders (Rock)

This song is a romantic rock ballad letting the person you have chosen to share the rest of your life with know you will be there no matter what. Best Line: “Nothing you confess/ Could make me love you less.” Listen to the entire song and it will give you chills.

5. Could I Have This Dance- Anne Murray (Country)

Although there are so many country songs to pick from that are about undying love. This one is the least depressing and a classic. Plus it was on the Urban Cowboy soundtrack and any movie staring John Travolta is going to have the best dance songs attached (except maybe Swordfish and Battlefield Earth). Take a listen below:

So there you have it, the top five list. Don’t like those? No problem our bands can play anything you have set your heart to because they want to help make your special day unforgettable.
