Funk Soul R&B Wedding

CEREMONY AND COCKTAIL HOUR

For this magnificent Funk Soul R&B wedding at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu, we provided impeccable sound equipment via Full Moon Audio for the ceremony. It’s so important for your vows to be heard without any audio faux pas or hiccups. Having a technically able sound team is imperative and we have the perfect team! Thank you Mike Mooneyham. Fast setups can be challenging, so you need an audio crew you can trust to deliver a great sounding product and not get stressed in tight time constraints.

For cocktail hour, the divine Saxafrass Trio serenaded guests with their funky instrumental renditions of recognizable classics such as Sissy Strut, Cantaloupe Island, Fire on the Bayou, Mercy Mercy Mercy, and more. Some people couldn’t help themselves and started dancing with cocktails in hand. We knew we were off to a great start!

GRAND ENTRANCE, FIRST DANCE, AND PARENT DANCE

We pride ourselves on custom song lists and we will also learn up to three formality songs, should those tunes not be on our list. Formality songs are your Grand Entrance, First Dance, and Parent Dance. This particular couple chose a new country tune and two classics. Our singer Sid delivered all three of those beautifully. Admittedly he said that formalities are a little intimidating because these are very special requests that the couple chooses and will remember throughout their lives together and need to be executed perfectly. He’s always up for the challenge and kills it every time. The songs they chose were:

  • Loving You Easy by Zac Brown
  • Right Down The Line by Gerry Rafferty
  • Days Like This by Van Morrison

GET ON UP

One cannot help themselves when hearing the great classic sounds of Funk, Soul, and R&B. At this wedding our 12-piece horn band brought down the house! The band was led by our awesome singer, Nick. He really knew how to conduct the band with his immense swagger and dance grooves. He and everyone gave it their all and left it on the stage.

The couple was very specific in their first meeting with The Replicas Music. They voiced how they wanted the band to “bring the party,” along the lines of a Trombone Shorty vibe. They did just that!

The dance floor was packed the entire night. We gave them exactly what they wanted.
